How do you spend your day?

As soon as I arrive at work, I begin by checking price changes and supply trends, and tracking shipments. Afterward, I concentrate on operational tasks, which include handling documents, logistics, and resolving any issues to ensure smooth contract fulfillment. In the afternoon, my focus shifts to client engagement, where I explore new business opportunities. An especially important aspect of my role is participating in purchase or sales tenders offered by domestic and foreign clients.

Could you Introduce your team and your job.

Monomer Team handles a diverse array of petrochemical products, ranging from upstream to downstream, including olefins, BTX, blending components, and byproducts. Our operations encompass both domestic trading and exports. For our export activities, we leverage Hanwha's global network across countries such as China, Vietnam, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia, while also collaborating with various global partners. My responsibility is the global sales of olefin products, including propylene, butadiene, butene-1, and C4 Raffinate. I try to identify trading opportunities arising from supply and demand imbalances between countries or companies, and come up with efficient logistic strategies to maximize profits.

I find it fulfilling to successfully close a deal that satisfies all parties involved. As a trader who orchestrates these deals, striking a balance with reasonable prices, costs, and schedules that meet everyone's needs is my primary goal. I feel the sense of greatest fulfillment when a deal is finalized.

In such a high-pressure environment, it's the support and camaraderie of my team members, often lightened with jokes, that provide me with energy and comfort. Outside of work, I exercise regularly to relieve stress and maintain my health.

What's your personal career goal?

My goal is to become a global specialist in monomer traiding.

Can you advise young talnets on what kind of studies or capabilities they should develop to do this job?

This job demands a basic understanding of the petrochemical industry, trade, and maritime transport. Proficiency in English is essential for interacting with foreign clients, and the ability to speak another language, such as Japanese or Chinese, is highly advantageous. However, since success in sales ultimately comes down to interpersonal skills, strong communication, negotiation abilities, and flexible thinking are crucial requirements.
